Tullamore team plays cards right to claim impressive win
THE CBAI (Contract Bridge Association of Ireland) Fun Teams Trophy sponsored by Frank and Brenda Kelly, was played in Westmanstown Sports Centre and was a blast!
The combination of competitive play with a light-hearted, creative atmosphere made for a unique experience.
The Fun Teams Trophy is primarily that - a fun event - with each team consisting of a Master, an Intermediate A, an Intermediate B and a Novice player.
Some players wore county colours while some wore fancy dress – very creative card-themed ties and waistcoats were on show!
Thirty-one teams from all corners of the country played. The Tullamore Central team of Doreen McInerney, Patty Ryan, Patricia Mahon and Patrick Martin were thrilled to take the win, just pipping one of the Mullingar teams to take the honours.
Great performance by the North Midland region!
