Water supply is now returning to homes and businesses across Birr following the disruption

Uisce Éireann have issued an update after repairs were carried out to fix a burst watermain and restore water supply to customers in Birr earlier today, Wednesday, July 8.

The national water utility said they are pleased to advise customers in Emmet Street, Burkes Hill, Sandymount, Pound Street, Glebe Street, Birr town and surrounding areas that water supply is now returning to homes and businesses across the area following the repairs.

James Joyce, Water Operations Manager with Uisce Éireann, said: "We understand the disruption that this outage has caused, and we would like to thank the Birr community for its patience and cooperation. Water supply is now returning across the area."

Typically, customers will see supplies restored within two to three hours. However, some customers, particularly those living at the end of the network or on higher ground, may experience a longer wait while the system fully recharges.
