Welcome for funding for Community Centres in Offaly

CLLR Peter Ormond welcomed the announcement last week that Shinrone Community Centre €33,238 (to install a lift), Moneygall Community Hall €25,000 (Improvement Works), Kilcormac Development Association €98,418.62 (Improvement Works), and Birr Development Company (Birr Leisure Centre) €95,000 (Energy Upgrades) were successful in their applications for funding under the community centre investment funds.

The funding will be used to upgrade, renovate and refurbish Community Centres. The local community facilities are at the heart of our communities and provide vital community services to members of the public.

Cllr Ormond stated that it is important to continue to invest in our community centres and this round of funding will greatly assist the successful applicants.

“I would like to thank the committees for their time and effort in submitting these applications and for the work and commitment to these centres,” he said.

The next round of community support fund for not for profit community or voluntary groups will be open for applications in January.
