Woman pleads guilty to assault in Tullamore that left another woman a laceration to her head
A Tullamore woman pleaded guilty to assaulting another woman during a recent Tullamore District Court session.
Sophie Judge, Apartment 4, Townmore House, Main Street, Tullamore, was charged with committing the assault causing harm in Distillery Lane, Tullamore on May 7, 2024.
Sergeant Richard Thornton told the court that the Gardai were called by a member of the public telling them the assault had taken place.
“The assault had been preceded by a verbal altercation between the defendant and the injured party,” commented the Sergeant.
“When they arrived they saw that the injured party had a laceration to her head and abrasion marks on the right hand side of her face.”
Judge Andrew Cody said he wouldn't make a decision until he saw a Victim Impact Statement.
He therefore adjourned the case to Wednesday, January 15 next, adding that he expects “a meaningful expression of remorse from the defendant on that day.”
