The ‘GMSV S1’ is the McLaren F1 for the 21st century

Limited to just 64 examples worldwide, the S1 will be equipped with a naturally-aspirated 4.2-litre Cosworth-derived V12 engine.
Gordon Murray Specialist Vehicles has reimagined the legendary McLaren F1supercar for the modern day with the arrival of the ‘GMSV S1.’
The luxury carmaker is responsible for designing and developing some of the world’s fastest and most expensive road-going supercars, with its founder, Gordon Murray, also the developer and designer of the original McLaren F1 from the 1990s.

The S1 is the firm’s latest creation and builds on the heritage of the F1, featuring a similar silhouette with a carbon fibre monocoque and body panels. Its front headlights feature LED daytime running lights, while the lower auxiliary lights sit within the lower air intake and are a nod to the original McLaren F1 concept from 1992.
To help improve driver engagement, the S1 is fitted with lightweight suspension, while the cabin layout features the same three-seat configuration as the original F1. The interior is complemented by bespoke materials and tailored trim, plus there’s updated infotainment screens and a lightweight audio system.
Under the bonnet, the S1 is fitted with a 4.2-litre naturally-aspirated Cosworth-derived V12 engine, producing 680bhp and 500Nm of torque, although official performance figures are still yet to be revealed. Power is transmitted through to a standard six-speed manual gearbox for maximum driver input.
The car’s exhaust is also lined with a 24-carat gold heat shield – another nod to the F1 from the 1990s.
Gordon Murray Specialist Vehicles will be building just 64 S1s, with prices and UK availability expected to be revealed soon.
