Firefighters extinguish Aberdeen restaurant blaze

Firefighters have extinguished a blaze that broke out in an Aberdeen restaurant on Thursday morning.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) sent six appliances and two specialist resources to Vovem in Union Street when the alarm was raised at about 11.45am.
SFRS said firefighters found the restaurant “well alight” when they arrived.
The fire service later confirmed that the blaze has been extinguished, and the last appliance left the scene at 5.30pm.
Police Scotland also issued a statement saying road closures that had been put in place near the blaze have now been lifted.
“All roads have now reopened following an earlier fire on Union Street in Aberdeen,” the Police Scotland statement read.
“We’d like to thank everyone for their patience”.
