Man in his 20s charged for having an 'imitation firearm' in Dublin city centre
He is due to appear in court
A man in his 20s has been charged for being in possession of an imitation firearm following an incident which occurred in Dublin city.
Gardaí seized a suspected fake firearm, disarmed and arrested the man on Thursday evening.
The man aged in his 20s has since been charged and is due to appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice this Friday morning.
Gardaí were alerted to reports of a male in possession of a firearm at Preston Street, in Dublin 1 at approximately 5pm this Thursday.
Unarmed members of the North Central Divisional Drug Unit attended the scene at approximately 5.30pm and disarmed the man.
