Porsche’s Taycan Turbo GT with Manthey Kit sets new Nurburgring record

Porsche has set a new record around the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife with a hardcore version of its Taycan Turbo GT.
Now equipped with the Manthey Kit, the electric Taycan managed to lap the ‘Green Hell’ in 06:55.533, eclipsing the previous record in the ‘electric executive cars’ class – also set by a Taycan – by nine seconds.

Only available on left-hand-drive cars – though UK buyers are still believed to be able to order the Taycan with Manthey Kit – the ugprades boost power by 27bhp to bring total output to 804bhp.

Also included in the kit are lightweight forged aluminium wheels fitted with special Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS track tyres, while the aerodynamic upgrades help to increase downforce by more than three times compared to the standard Taycan. When travelling at its top speed of 193mph, the Taycan can develop up to 740kg of downforce, improving cornering stability.
A huge rear wing is equipped at the rear and is helped by a new front and rear diffuser. Carbon ‘aerodiscs’ on the rear wheels help to improve efficiency further.
