Renault has announced that the R4 ‘Plein Sud’ has gone on sale with a starting price of £27,445 after the Electric Car Grant.
The Plein Sud model is equipped with a full-length electric opening canvas roof to give a drop-top-like experience wrapped up in a practical family crossover package.

The range kicks off with the Techno+ and features keyless entry, 18-inch wheels, a reversing camera, rear privacy glass, dual-zone climate control and power-folding mirrors. The flagship Iconic+ comes in at £29,445, after the ECG, and boasts a powered tailgate, a Harman Kardon premium sound system, heated front seats and a heated steering wheel.
All cars are hooked up to a 52kWh battery pack with an electric motor to produce 148bhp and 245Nm of torque, while Renault claims the car can travel up to 242 miles between charges. In terms of charging, the Plein Sud can be topped up at speeds of up to 100kW from a DC rapid unit, allowing 15 to 80 per cent to be completed in 30 minutes.
The Renault 4 Plein Sud is available to order now with deliveries expected to commence in the third quarter of this year.
