Stenhousemuir won promotion to the William Hill Championship despite losing the second leg of their play-off 1-0 at home to Alloa.

The Warriors, who won the first leg 3-1 at Recreation Park, have reached the second tier for the first time in the modern era having bounced around the third and fourth divisions since the late 1990s, claiming the League Two title in 2024.

In a goalless first half Luke Donnelly came dangerously close to pulling one back in the tie for Alloa when he somehow shot wide from point-blank range in the 19th minute.

The Wasps would eventually cut into Stenhousemuir’s aggregate lead when substitute Cameron O’Donnell picked out the inside of a post shortly after the hour mark and Darren Jamieson soon had to make a fine save to deny them a second and parity.
