Two men dead after late night car crash

Two men are dead after a late night car crash in Rutherglen.
A 73-year-old died at the scene, at the junction of Mill Street and Kings Park Avenue, after the Mercedes C220 he was a passenger in collided with a Ford Mondeo.
The driver, 80, was taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but died shortly after.
The Ford’s driver, a 34-year-old man, was unhurt and has been arrested, police said.
Officers want witnesses to the smash, at about 11.50pm on Friday November 18, to get in touch.
Sergeant Gemma Blackadder said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of those who died as a result of this incident.
“Our enquiries are ongoing and we are appealing for anyone who was in the area around the time of the crash and who may have witnessed it or have dash-cam footage to contact us.”
