The winner of the Best Dressed competition at the recent Kilbeggan Races Midlands National found her stunning Ralph Lauren dress in a charity shop.

Kilbeggan native Katie Moran picked up the prize at the Sustainable Style Ladies Competition on the day last Friday.

Judge on the day, Sarah Jane Foster, said: "I loved judging ladies day this year Kilbeggan Races. I grew up going racing here with my family and have so many lovely memories here so to judge ladies day was super special.

"The style was incredible. It was sustainable style theme and the ladies delivered. They were really creative with their outfits. It also proved money cannot buy you style. I learned so much from them all.

"One lady in particular was Katie Moran. I instantly loved her outfit. It was a Ralph Lauren dress bought online from Oxfam Ireland which I didn’t even know had an online shop, and I checked it out and it’s really good. She styled it so perfectly with her accessories and even made some of them herself. It was her First Ladies day win and I’m predicting many more to come for Katie."

Katie wore a handcrafted white belt and an amazing white and black hat from Karen Edell millinery in Tullamore. She won a prize worth €5,000, including €2,000 in cash.
