No luck for the Irish as Andrew Scott misses out on Emmy Award for Ripley
Last night, Andrew Scott missed out on winning an Emmy award for his role in the thriller TV show 'Ripley.'
The Dubliner was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Anthology Series or Movie category. Scott lost to Richard Gadd for his performance in the hit Netflix series 'Baby Reindeer.'
'Baby Reindeer' was a big winner on the night with the show being crowned Outstanding Drama Series, and Gadd's co-star Jessica Gunning winning Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie award.
Although Scott was the only Irish actor nominated, there were plenty of Irish stars on the red carpet at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles last night.

Colin Farrell also made an appearance at the 76th annual awards ceremony, presenting the Emmy for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series which went to Billy Crudup in The Morning Show.
Galway girl Nicola Coughlin also took to the stage to co-present Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie award alongside 'Baby Reindeer' actor Nava Mau. This was the 'Bridgerton' star's first time at the Emmys.
Newlyweds Saoirse Ronan and Jack Lowden also graced the red carpet last night for the time as a married couple.
