This year's EMAs will take place next month on Sunday 10 November at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester.

Hozier and Fontaines D.C. are among the nominees in this year's MTV Europe Music Awards (EMAs) in Manchester.

The two acts have both been nominated in the Best Alternative category. Hozier and Fontaines D.C. will be going head to head in the category alongside Lana Del Rey, Imagine Dragons, Twenty One Pilots and Yungblud. 

This is the first ever EMA nomination for the Dublin band Fontaines D.C.

Wicklow man Hozier is also nominated in the Best UK and Ireland Act category. Other nominees in the category include Dua Lipa, Chase & Status, Charlie XCX, Central Cee and Raye.

Taylor Swift has once again achieved the most nominations of any act for a second year running. The pop star has been nominated for Best Artist, Best Pop, Best Live, Biggest Fans, Best Collaboration ('Fortnight' feat. Post Malone), and Best Video ('Fortnight').

This year's EMAs will take place on Sunday 10 November at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester. The award show will be broadcast at 9pm on MTV UK, Channel 5, and Pluto TV.

Before the awards show takes place, the public will have their chance to vote for their favourite artists here.
