Love/Hate star teases return of iconic RTE crime series amid wild fan theory

Ten years on from the season finale in which his character shop crime kingpin Nidge, Love/Hate actor John Connors has responded to a suggestion the series could make a comeback.

It was 2014 when the sixth and final series of the hit RTE crime series aired and saw Connors' character Patrick rush to Nidge's house to shoot him in his back garden while his family watched on.

John Connors has now responded to a TikTok user who suggests "we didn't actually see Nidge die in the last scene, possibly wounded." The fan went on to suggest a new series could fast-forward 15 years and see Nidge walk out of prison.

John responded: "You're probably going to see that, actually that's exactly what's gong to happen, how did you know? Did you read the new scripts or something?" It appears Connors may be joking but he got fans excited in the comments.

"Don't tease us like that," one wrote, with a second adding, "Nidge was very paranoid in the end, so could've all been a dream or hallucination. Carry on from where it ended."

A third viewer added: "Nothing has come close to Love/Hate. You were a brilliant cast and a great story and we were hooked. Would love to see it back."
