The final betrayal is coming - Who’s left battling it out as The Traitors nears its end

The show, which has been praised as one of the best series on RTÉ, will air its final episode on Tuesday night

The final betrayal is coming - Who’s left battling it out as The Traitors nears its end

Nine contestants remain in Slane Castle as the final week of The Traitors airs this week

The Traitors has had the entire country glued to their screens for three nights a week since it first aired at the end of August and now it is due to reach its climax this week after a month of lies, betrayal and murder.

Twenty-four contestants started out on the show in the hopes of surviving until the end to bag the €50,000 cash prize and now only nine remain, with one traitor among them - for now at least.

Last Tuesday's episode saw the show's final original traitor, and undoubtedly the entire country's favourite player, Paudie, banished from the castle after managing to hang in for weeks and outlasting numerous traitors, including his own son Andrew.

It was a dramatic episode to lead us into the final week, with another big character in the show, Christine, being murdered in what was perhaps the most theatrical way yet as she and her fellow players Faye and Ben each had to lie down in their own coffin to discover which one of them was the latest victim of the traitors.

As the final episode is due to air on Tuesday night, who is left trying to unmask the traitors amongst them and who is trying to avoid capture by the faithfuls?

After Paudie's exit, Nick is the last remaining traitor in the show. Whether he blackmails a faithful to join his ranks on Sunday night's episode remains to be seen.

Nick's ally in the show and potential candidate for being blackmailed is Ben, the 33-year-old member of the Irish Defence Forces. Field Engineer Wilkin is the only other man left in the show along with Nick and Ben. He is a faithful but suspicions have been raised throughout as to whether he could be a traitor.

Other faithfuls also left fighting include tattoo apprentice Amy, business graduate Kelley and logistics specialist Joanna.

Faye, an event coordinator from Dublin, also remains. However, her name has been raised by other faithfuls in recent episodes about her possibly being a traitor so she could be in a dangerous spot heading into this week.

Content creator Vanessa from Waterford has also had her name raised in recent episodes, although nothing has stuck against her yet as being a traitor. Whether the traitors try to pin her as a guilty party in the final episodes remain to be seen.

Then there's Oyin, a model from Dublin, who has cleverly spotted all of the traitors so far on the show. Out of all the faithfuls, it seems like Oyin is definitely the one Nick needs to watch heading into the final week.
