Carlow Rotary Club's Tree of Remembrance charity fundraiser raises €9000

Carlow Rotary Club's Tree of Remembrance charity fundraiser raises €9000

Almost ten thousand euro has been raised for charities thanks to Carlow Rotary Club's Tree of Remembrance.

The tree gives an opportunity for people to remember loved ones with a message on a ribbon, with 2022's tree raising a total of €9000.

The funds will benefit local charities including St Vincent de Paul, Éist Cancer Support Centre, Delta Centre Carlow, and the Alzheimer's Society (Bethany House Day Centre).

The club is thanking longtime Gold sponsor Unum, Silver sponsor Lucas Plant Hire, as well as New Work Junction, Maher Property Advisers and TM Bryne.

In a statement, they said, "We thank everyone involved in organising the tree, all volunteers, Rotarians past and present, our nominated charities, the students from Gaelcholaiste and Presentation College, Carlow County Council, Barry O’Neill, Doughlas Murray, Jimmy Phelan, our supporters and we’re especially grateful for the generosity of our dear fellow Carlovians."

All are welcome to attend a blessing of the ribbons from the Remembrance Tree at 12.30pm on January 15 at Carlow Cathedral.
