An appeal on a decision to refuse planning permission to complete an unfinished estate in Carlow has been lodged with An Bord Pleanala by the developers behind the proposed development.
Cieval Ltd oriinally sought permission to complete an unfinished estate at Gort na Greine, Ballinabranna. This proposal would see the building of 31 homes, including 22 bungalows, eight semi-detached houses and one detached property.
Planning permission was refused last month by Carlow County Council, however.
Concerns had been raised over capacity constraints of the existing wastewater treatment plant.
The planners report noted that correspondence had been received from Irish Water which confirmed "subject to contracts and agreement the infrastructure to facilitate the proposed development can be provided within the life of the permission if granted".
The inspector's report noted the response but added that that it "had not confirmed the availability of the infrastructure required to facilitate the development within the life".
Cieval Ltd has now lodged an appeal on the decision to An Bord Pleanála.
The appeal is due to be decided by 13 June next
