Thousands of euro worth of damage was caused after 13 cars were damaged in what was believed to have been arson attack in the early hours of St Patrick’s Day in Carlow.
The incident is understood to have occurred at the Green Acres site in Ballyvergal, close to the Dublin Road near Carlow town, just after midnight on Friday, March 17.
"Anyone who was in the area and saw anything suspicious is asked to contact gardaí in Carlow," a garda spokesperson said.
Green Acres was a former ballroom that was popular for dances in the 1970s and 1980s. It is now used as a used car sales room where many cars are parked.
Thirteen cars were set alight on Friday morning when the culprits entered the compound.
A number of valuable cars were damaged in the incident.
It is believed that this is the second time in a number of months that the site has been burgled.
Gardaí are appealing for information and are looking for people who may have dashcam footage or CCTV from the Ballyvergal area on Friday morning.
The scene was cordoned off to allow a forensics examination with door-to-door enquiries conducted in the area. Gardaí confirmed that there have been no arrests and that the investigation is ongoing.
People are asked to contact Carlow Garda Station on 059 9136620.
