Carlow's first affordable housing scheme has been approved with 20 new homes getting the green light

Minister for Housing, Darragh O'Brien, confirmed that 20 affordable purchase homes at Coís Dara, Tullow Road, Carlow have been approved. 

The new homes will be delivered in phases from the end of this year into 2024.

Minister O’Brien has given approval for €1.5m funding for this project.

Local Fianna Fáil TD,  Jennifer Murnane O'Connor commented on the news, "everybody should have access to good-quality homes, located in the right places, to purchase or rent at an affordable price.''

The homes are projected to cost between €241,000 and €257,000 depending on the house type and size which represents a discount on market values of approximately 22%.
