National broadband connection now available for Carlow homes near Bunclody
Almost 4,700 premises in County Carlow can avail of a high-speed connection today.
National fibre broadband connection is now available for almost 300 Carlow homes, businesses and farms near Bunclody. The area covers the rural surrounds of Bunclody and includes areas such as Clonegal and Cranemore.
National Broadband Ireland deliver the new connection under the National Broadband Plan on behalf of the Government.
As the biggest investment in rural Ireland since rural electrification, County Carlow will receive €32M of Government investment under the National Broadband Plan.
Works have already been completed in other parts of Carlow and there are a total of 4,686 premises that are available to pre-order or order high-speed, reliable broadband across the county with 1,214 connections made so far.
Peter Hendrick, Chief Executive Officer, National Broadband Ireland, said: “We are delighted to announce that Carlow premises near Buclody along the Wexford bordercan now order high-speed broadband services through the National Broadband Ireland network. This will enable users to experience the life-changing benefits that high-speed broadband provides.
