River Barrow in Carlow Town
This year’s National Heritage Week theme is Living Heritage.
To celebrate this a Wildflower Walk and Talk Along the Barrow, sponsored by the Local Authority Waters Programme, will take place on Sunday 13th August from 3pm to 5pm.
You will learn how to ID native wildflowers and hear their stories. You will also learn about biodiversity and the uses of plants past and present including whether they’re edible or not.
Meeting at the Barrow Brew, the walk will be along the canal at Milford weir, joining the Barrow.
Refreshments are being provided by Ballinabranna/Milford/Raheendoran Development Group and there will be some sustainable foraged snacks on hand.
The event is free but limited 15 people. For more details and to register click HERE.
If you miss the event, it will also take place the following Sunday, 20th August.
