Carlow County Council's Active Travel Team has confirmed that Phase 2 of the Tullow Town Orbital Walking & Cycling Scheme is nearly finished.

This project will create a new 550m-long path for pedestrians and cyclists, connecting the Oakley Heights, An Caislean, and Court View housing developments to Castle Lane.

The scheme is designed to make walking and cycling in Tullow safer and more convenient. It will provide a dedicated space for pedestrians and cyclists away from traffic, with improved lighting and signage along the route.

The main footpath and cycling track works incorporating all concrete and macadam are now finished.

The remaining works including fencing, public lighting, signage and marking will be completed in the coming 4-6 weeks. It is anticipated that the scheme will be completed in Q4 of 2023.
