'The gentlest soul' Tributes paid for local Kileshin man after his death

Liam Doran - March 27th

Tributes have been paid this week following the death of Liam Doran of Keelogue, Killeshin, who passed away surrounded by his loving family on March 27th 2024, in the great care of the nurses and staff of St Canice's Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved husband of Rosaleen, much loved father of Treasa, Liam and Róisín adored grandfather of Ada, Fiadh, Síoda and Senan.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, daughters, son, grandchildren, sons-in-law Daragh and Alex, daughter-in-law Nicola, sisters Nancy and Sarah, brothers-in-law especially Peter and Mick, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and his wide circle of relatives, friends, neighbours and club-mates.

Tributes from the condolences section of Rip.ie read: "My dearest Rosaleen, Treasa, Liam, Róisín and all the family - I'm so incredibly heartbroken for you all to hear about the loss of your lovely husband and Daddy. The gentlest soul, he was such a character and always had a word for everyone. He'll be greatly missed by all of us, we were all so fond of him. Sending love and hugs to you all at this awfully sad time. Rest well dear Liamie, what a light you leave behind you."

Another reads: "My Dad had many happy days on the football field with Liam. May you rest in peace!"

And finally: "My sincere condolences to you Rosaleen and all your family on the very sad passing of your husband father and grandad he was a true gentleman may his soul rest in peace with all the angels in heaven."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at Carpenters Funeral Home, Shamrock Square, Carlow (Eircode R93 C863) on Good Friday, March 29th from 4.30pm concluding with Prayers at 8.30pm that evening.

Funeral Service on Saturday morning at 11am in The Holy Cross Church, Killeshin, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.
