Tributes paid for a 'Wonderful lady' following the death of local Carlow woman

Tributes have been paid following the death of Carlow woman, Leonie Gibson who lived in Longford and was formerly of Brownshill, Carlow on 7th of April 2024. She passed away peacefully at the Midland's Regional Hospital, Mullingar. 

Pre-deceased by her parents James and Doreen, sister Dolores, brother John and by her brother-in-law Frank.

Leonie will be sadly missed and remembered with love by her husband Tony, daughter Shena Elliott, sons Michael and Alan, sister Mary, daughters-in-law Dani and Edel, son-in-law Declan, grandchildren Dylan, Sam, Aoife, Eírrin, Lucas and Bruno, sisters-in-law, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: "Our deepest and sincerest sympathy to the Gibson and McGrath families and extended families at this very sad time. Leonie was a wonderful lady and will be very much missed. May her dear Soul rest in peace."

Another reads: "Sincere condolences to Tony Shena all the Gibson and McGrath families on the passing of Leonie, may her gentle soul rest in peace. Always enjoyed her visits to Dolores and Frank's in Beechwood."

And finally: "May I offer sincere condolences to Tony and Family, Mary and her family on the loss of Leonie, may her gentle soul rest in eternal peace. You are all in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time."

Funeral Arrangements 

Reposing at Glennon’s Funeral Home, Ballinalee Road (N39 EC81) on Wednesday 10th April from 6.00pm concluding with prayers at 8.00pm. Mass of the Resurrection on Thursday 11th April at 11.00am in St. Mary’s Church, Newtownforbes, interment afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.
