Tributes paid to Graiguecullen man 'who loved a bit of craic' following his passing

Denis (Dinny) WHITNEY - April 11th, 2024

Tributes have been paid to Denis (Dinny) Whitney of 9 Chapel St, Graiguecullen, Carlow, passed away peacefully on April 11th, 2024. Dinny passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the care of St Luke's Hospital, Kilkenny.

Beloved father of Sandra, Kenneth, Mark and Stuart, cherished brother of Mary, Eddie, Michael, Ber and the late Tom.

Dinny will be sadly missed by his daughter and sons, their mother Joan, siblings, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: "Deepest sympathy to the Whitney family on the passing of Denis. He was a great friend who loved the bit of craic & will be dearly missed may Denis. Rest In Peace."

Another reads: "Light of heaven to you Dinny , many a good game of golf we had together, a great character, always looked forward to a game with him, condolences to the Whitney family, Rest in Peace Dinny."

And finally: "Sincerest Condolences to the Whitney family on the very sad passing of Dinny. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis cróga."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at his home, 9 Chapel St., Graiguecullen, Carlow (Eircode R93 XW52) on Saturday, April 13th, from 4pm, concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal from there on Sunday at 1.45pm to St Clare’s Church, Graiguecullen, arriving for Funeral Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St Mary's Cemetery, Carlow.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to The Alzheimer Association of Ireland.
