Tributes paid to Graiguecullen man who had 'a kind word for everyone' following his passing

Tom Scully - April 24th, 2024

Tributes have been paid following the death of Tom Scully ( Formerly of Doyles of the Shamrock) of 7 Chapel St., Graiguecullen, Carlow.

Tom passed away peacefully aged 94 years old surrounded by his loving family on April 24th 2024 at St Luke's Hospital in Kilkenny.

Beloved husband of the late Fred (Winifred).

He will be sadly missed by his loving children Philomena (O’Rourke) Anne, Mary Clare (Glancy), Madeline and Anthony, grandchildren Susan, Jessica, Sean, Kate, Clare and his great-grandchild Beth, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law Maria, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: "Sincere condolences on the very sad passing of Tommy, a true gentleman, always a kind word for everyone. May he rest in peace."

Another reads: "Our sincere condolences to all the family at this sad time: Tom was a great kind man when he worked at Doyle’s of the Shamrock, he was so helpful. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace."

And finally: "Sincere sympathy to the Scully family on the sad passing of Tom. A lovely gentleman. May he rest in peace, reunited with Fred."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at his home, 7 Chapel St., Graiguecullen, (Eircode R93KF59) from 6pm on Thursday, April 25th, concluding with Prayers at 8pm that evening. Reposing on Friday from 11am with removal that evening at 6.45pm to St. Clare's Church, Graiguecullen arriving for Prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Saturday at 2.30pm followed by funeral to Killeshin Cemetery, for burial.

Family flowers only please. Donations, if desired, to St. Vincent de Paul.
