'Some showers will be heavy and possibly thundery' Carlow's weekend weather forecast

Heavy and possibly thundery showers ahead

Met Éireann  have provided their weekend weather forecast for Carlow and surrounding areas.

Looking to Met Éireann's weekend forecast:

Friday: "Plenty of dry weather today with just some patchy light rain or drizzle, mainly in northern and eastern parts of the province with largely cloudy conditions there. Some sunny spells developing in the south of the province. Highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees in light northwest to west breezes."

Friday Evening:

"Mostly cloudy tonight in the north of the province with some mist patches. Lowest temperatures there of 8 to 10 degrees. Dry, clearer and cooler elsewhere with lowest temperatures of 4 to 8 degrees. Light variable winds will become southeasterly later."

Saturday: "Dry tomorrow morning but turning cloudy from the southwest. Through the morning, some patchy rain and drizzle will develop, turning more persistent in the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees. Southeasterly winds will increase moderate, occasionally fresh."

Saturday Night: "Rain over much of the country early in the night will continue to track northeastwards, clearing from the southwest to showers through the night. Some of the showers may be heavy. Temperatures not falling below 9 to 12 degrees in light southeasterly winds, veering southwesterly."

Sunday: "The last of the rain will clear the north through the morning and early afternoon, leaving a day with a mix of cloud, sunny spells and scattered showers. Some of the showers will be heavy or possibly thundery with a chance of spot flooding. Highest temperatures of 14 to 17 degrees generally, slightly cooler for Atlantic coasts, in mostly moderate southwest to west winds."

Sunday evening: "Clear spells with scattered showers gradually easing through the night. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 11 degrees in moderate westerly winds."
