Tributes have been paid following the passing of Carlow woman who was an 'Amazing lady'

Catherine Doody (née Dowling) - Sunday 16th June 2024

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Catherine Doody (née Dowling) of 37 Springdale, Tullow Road, and formerly of 18 Pollerton Road, Carlow.

Catherine passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at St. Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny on June 16th 2024.

Beloved wife of Declan, much loved mother of Niall, Rachel and Garrett, adored grandmother of Michaella, Ryan, Róisín, Dylan, Colm, Luke, Fia and Finn, cherished sister of Noeleen, Michael, Paddy and Ber and treasured daughter of the late Laurence and Elizabeth Dowling.

She will be sadly missed by her loving husband, sons, daughter, grandchildren, son-in-law Barra, daughters-in-law Karen and Claire, brothers, sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, relatives and friends.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section or Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Declan, we are so sorry to hear of Catherine’s passing. What an amazing lady that lived surrounded by so much love. Rachel, Garret and Niall we extend our condolences to you, your lovely Dad, your families and friends . Grant you all strength in coming months. Rest In Peace Catherine."

Another reads: "Sincere condolences to Noeleen and all Catherine’s family on their sad loss Catherine was opposite mam in the sacred heart and always had a smile when we went in May she rest in peace."

A third user writes: "Deepest sympathy to you Declan and your family, and to the Dowling family on your loss. Catherine was a remarkable lady who always had a great sense of humour. May she be at peace now, reunited with her lovely parents Lar and Lizzie."

Funeral Arrangements

eposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq, (Eircode R93 C863) on Monday, June 17th, from 4pm concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal from there on Tuesday at 1.40pm to The Holy Family Church, Askea, arriving for Funeral Mass at 2pm. Burial afterwards in St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.
