The Councillor on his Facebook page wrote:
" Following my contacts with ESB Corporate Services, the following statement has been issued by the ESB regarding ongoing loss of service in the Tullow Town area: "ESB Networks can confirm that there have been unplanned outages affecting customers in the Tullow area of Co Carlow recently as a result of timber conflicts on our networks where trees touching line are resulting in tripping issues due to our protection system.
In response to this ESB Networks and our timber-cutting contractor partners have been carrying out extensive work across a number of locations in Tullow and surrounding parts to remove trees and branches which are coming into contact with overhead lines
However, due to the extent of this issue, it will be a number of weeks before this work to facilitate tree cutting and the removal of timber is fully complete. As a result, unfortunately, customers may experience more outages but ESB Networks is doing everything it can to mitigate this issue.
ESB Networks is confident that the cause of these recent outages will be eliminated by these works and wishes to apologise to all affected customers for the inconvenience cause." Hopefully the issue will be resolved in the coming weeks. WILL"
