The research poster that won the award at the conference, focused on Carlow-Kilkenny ICPOP’s Rapid Improvement Event (RIE).
The RIE was facilitated last year by the HSE’s Ireland East Hospital Group service improvement team.
During this RIE, the Carlow-Kilkenny ICPOP team engaged with multiple stakeholders, in promoting collaborative evaluation, planning and service development.
Speaking about the RIE, Majella Cunningham (Operational Lead of Carlow Kilkenny ICPOP) said:
“This process proved pivotal in the development of quality person centred services for older persons in Carlow and Kilkenny. Our referral rates and efficiency of access to the ICPOP service have increased significantly since the RIE and we have streamlined a number of our internal processes.”
“This award, presented to the team by Chief Executive Officer of the HSE Bernard Gloster, is great recognition for our multi-disciplinary team”.
