Tributes paid to Carlow native who was 'great company and good humored' following his passing

Jimmy Curran - Saturday 12th October 2024

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Jimmy Curran of Craan, Clonegal, County Carlow and formerly of Newtown.

Jimmy passed away peacefully on the 12th of October 2024.

redeceased by his beloved wife Phyllis, son John, brothers Pakie & Larry, sister Mary.

Jimmy, deeply regretted by his daughter Margaret, sons Seamus & Raymond, daughters-in-law Tina, Rachenda & Lisa, grandchildren, great-grandchild Teddy, nephews, nieces, relatives, kind neighbours & his many friends.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Deepest Sympathy to Seamus Ray and Margaret on the death of Jimmy one of life's gentlemen, great company, good humoured, and decent. Great memories of Jimmy when he entertained us all in our teenage years. Brought me to my first Horse racing and Dog racing meeting He was such an important man in the late seventies in Kilbride and for many years after. Thanks Jimmy for the memories may your soul rest in peace. Pat & Mary Nolan."

Another reads: "Sincere Sympathy to the Curran Family. May Jimmy rest in eternal peace."

Funeral Arrangements 

Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq., Carlow (Eircode R93 C863) from 5pm on Tuesday, October 15th, with removal at 7.30pm to The Holy Family Church, Askea, arriving for Prayers at 8pm that evening. Funeral Mass on Wednesday at 11am followed by burial in St Mary’s Cemetery, Carlow.
