He posted to his Instagram account and he said:

"So you might ask, what's this about? Well, this isn't a stance against SETU directly, but it's a stance against the Irish government and how yet again, in Budget 2025, they have neglected and failed to deliver on their promises for students. The demands from this protest include, we are looking for funding for purpose built student accommodation, 307 million euro circa funding for the sector, the higher education sector as a whole, protections for those living in diggs, and overall investment and care in the higher education sector. Our colleagues in other student unions nationally will also be taking part in this at the same time. So we'll be very grateful in any of those three campuses if you could come out and show your support."

He also went on to call on the government to call a General Election saying "If you are not based on any of these three campuses, please walk out of class anywhere and show solidarity and support. Because the more voices and the more people we have out, the better to show the government that more needs to be done and call an election now. Thank you."
