WEATHER: 'Band of rain, Sunny spells following' Bank Holiday Weekend weather forecast

Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees

Met Éireann have provided their bank holiday weekend weather forecast for County Carlow and surrounding areas.

Mixed weather across the weekend with some rain but also some spells of sunshine across the weekend to enjoy.

Firstly looking at Met Éireann  for today:

"Mostly cloudy with scattered outbreaks of rain, clearing from most areas later in the afternoon with some sunny spells developing. Highest temperatures of 14 to 16 degrees with mostly light to moderate easterly winds but fresh near the south and southeast coast."

Tonight: 

"Tonight will be largely dry with clear spells. Patches of mist and fog will form in light to moderate easterly or variable winds. Lowest temperatures of 4 to 12 degrees, mildest in the south."

Tomorrow:

"Partly cloudy with isolated showers tomorrow morning. A band of rain will move southeast across Leinster during the afternoon and evening, with sunny spells following. Highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees with light to moderate south to southwest winds becoming northwesterly after the rain."

Saturday Night:

"Isolated showers in the north but otherwise dry with clear spells. Colder than recent nights with lows of 2 to 6 degrees, in light westerly or variable winds."

Sunday:

"Cloud will increase on Sunday morning and outbreaks of rain will develop in the west. The rain will move east during the afternoon and evening and will be heaviest in the west and northwest. Parts of the southeast will stay dry until evening. Highest temperatures of 11 to 14 degrees with moderate south to southwest winds developing."

Bank Holiday Monday:

"Outbreaks of rain will gradually clear southeastwards during Monday morning and it will be drier but rather cloudy for the afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures of 13 to 16 degrees with light to moderate westerly winds."
