Tributes have been paid following the passing of 'dear, kind, and gentle' Carlow woman

Rita DELANEY (née Duggan) - Rathnapish, Carlow - Friday 25th October 2024

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Rita Delaney, nee Duggan of 78 Elm Park Drive, Rathnapish, Carlow.

Rita passed away peacefully in the gentle, loving care of the District Hospital on the 25th of October.

Beloved wife of the late Jim and adored mother of John, Marguerite and Paul. Sadly missed by her loving sons, daughter, brother Frank, son-in-law Chris, daughter-in-law Melissa, grandchildren Paul, Chloe, Jonathan and Conor, great-grandson Baby Emmett, granddaughters-in-law Sylvia and Christy, grandson-in-law Dan, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Dearest John, Marguerite, Paul and All the Family,

Our Deepest Sympathies at this unbelievably sad time. Sending you our love and strength.

Rita was a beloved sister to Frank, he talks of her constantly with love and affection.
She was not just my sister-in-law she was my cherished friend.
Rita was always there to listen and give advice with our long chats on the phone “putting the world to rights.”

We have so many wonderful memories of happy times and laughter with Rita & Jim - too many to write here but, they will make us smile and help us through this difficult time.

Rest In Peace dear, kind, gentle Rita, until we meet again."

Another reads:

"Condolences to John , Marguerite and Paul on the passing of your mum Rita. God rest her soul . Esther and family"

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing in R. Healy & Son Funeral Home Pollerton Castle, Carlow on Monday evening from 5pm followed by removal at 6.45pm to the Church of the Holy Family, Askea to arrive for reception prayers at 7pm. Funeral Mass on Tuesday at 11am. Burial afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
