The proposed upgrades for the Carlow – Knockananna corridor focus on increasing service frequency and improving access to public transport. The enhancements aim to offer better connections and more reliable transport options for rural communities in this region.

From the TFI:

Under the proposals, the NTA aims to introduce a new seven-day week service between Carlow and Knockananna, providing connections with Kernanstown, Tullow, Rathvilly, Baltinglass, Kiltegan and Hacketstown.

The proposed service will provide four services per day, offering greater connections to Carlow train station as well as local services including routes 132, 800 and 874.
