Carlow County Council have provided conditional planning approval for the installation of 2 car charging spaces that will allow 4 cars to be charged at one time.
The location for the new car charging spots are at the Carlow Retail Park and was received by the Carlow Council on the 12th of September 2024.

The decision was made by the Carlow Council on the 6th of November 2024 and the proposed works read as follows:
Development at the site located at the Carlow Retail Park, R93 E7C1.
To facilitate 2 shared vehicle charging units and 4 charging bays and ancillary site works within a partially reconfigured parking area.
The decision comes with 10 conditions from the Council and the decision description reads as follows:
"The installation of a compact modular substation and ancillary site development works; to facilitate 2 no. shared electric vehicle charging units and 4 no. charging bays and ancillary site works within a partially reconfigured parking area"
