Tributes paid to a 'lovely lady and a great teacher' following the passing of Carlow woman

Alice BYRNE (née Pender) - Clogrennane, Carlow - Monday 25th November 2024

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Alice Byrne (nee Pender) of Clogrennane, Carlow and formerly of Ballybannon, Carlow.

Alice passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on the 25th of November 2024.

Pre-deceased by her brother Michael and her sisters Marion and Pauline.

Beloved wife of Ned and adored mother of John-Joe.

Alice will be sadly missed by her loving husband, son, daughter-in-law Gemma, grandchildren Brídín and Ned, brothers Dan, Tony and Tom, sisters Margaret, Phyllis, Tess and Rose, nieces, nephews, neighbours and friends.

Tributes have been paid on the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Sincere condolences to her husband Ned, the Byrne and Pender families on their sad loss. Alice taught me in Bagenalstown Vocational school many years ago. She was a lady and great teacher. May her gentle soul rest in peace forever."

Another reads:

"Deepest sympathy to Ned , John Joe and the extended families on the sad passing of Alice. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time. Rest in Peace Alice "

Funeral arrangements 

eposing in Carpenter Bros. Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq, Carlow, on Wednesday, November 27th, from 4pm, concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 11am in St. Fintan’s Church, Ballinanbranna, Co. Carlow followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

The Byrne family would like thank most sincerely the management and staff of Beechwood Nursing Home for all their kindness.
