The road closure is set to take place from the 4th of February till the 28th of February 2025
Carlow County Council has announced that their will be temporary closure of roads for almost a month.
The road in question is a section of road on Kellis Lane (L-30535) and Rathoe Road to facilitate grid connection works.
The notice for the closure of roads reads:
"Carlow County Council having given the required notice intend to temporarily close the section of road between Kellis Lane (L-30535) and Rathoe Road to facilitate grid connection works carried out by Kendra Civil Engineering Ireland Ltd from the Garreenleen Solar Farm Substation to the ESB substation at Kellis."
Carlow Councillor Will Paton writes on Facebook:
"NOTICE of ROAD CLOSURE at RATHTOE
Local Councillors weren’t consulted on this road closure and we certainly didn’t vote for it to happen. The decision to close the road was made by the Chief Executive."
