Met Éireann have provided their daily weather forecast for County Carlow and surrounding areas.
Met Éireann issued another orange weather warning for Leinster on Wednesday evening that will last from Wednesday the 8th at 18:00 to Thursday the 9th at 11:00.
The orange weather warning is not just for Carlow and Leinster but also for Cavan, Monaghan, Munster, Connacht.
The warning reads:
Extremely cold with widespread severe frost, ice and lying snow.
Impacts:
• Dangerous travelling conditions on roads and underfoot
• Travel disruption and delays
• Animal welfare issues
Then looking at Met Éireann for today:
"Very cold this morning with widespread frost and ice lingering. Sunny spells will develop later with just a scattering of cloud in a cold northerly breeze. Staying mostly dry with highs really struggling at just 2 to 5 degrees."
Tonight:
"Very cold and dry tonight with frost setting in early. Cloud will push in from the south later. Bitterly cold with lowest temperature of -7 to -2 degrees with the lowest temperatures occurring early in the night. Frost, ice and black ice patches expected."
Tomorrow:
"Cloudy with outbreaks of light rain spreading from the southwest but most areas will hold dry through to the evening. Highest temperatures of 2 to 5 degrees with light easterly breezes."
