Gardaí investigating armed break-in Graiguecullen, hammer wielding intruders known to victims

Carlow Gardaí are investigating the scene of an aggravated burglary in Carlow in which three people forcibly entered a home in Tommy Murphy Park, Graiguecullen, brandishing weapons and leaving the occupants with minor injuries.

The incident occurred on the 17th of January 2025, Friday morning.

Aggravated Burglary

At 10.50am on Friday morning last, 17th January 2025, three persons, two males and a female, forcibly entered a house in Tommy Murphy Park, Graiguecullen, by kicking in the front door. The intruders were brandishing weapons, including a hammer. The intruders proceeded to assault the two occupants of the house.

It is understood that all parties were known to each other. The two occupants of the house received minor injuries as result of the assault and were treated at the scene by paramedics.

Carlow Detective Unit are investigating this incident and are appealing to anyone in the Tommy Murphy Park area who may have witnessed this incident to contact them confidentially on 059 9136620. Similarly, they are appealing for anyone who may have CCTV, dahcam footage or doorbell cam footage, to contact them.
