Carlow Arts Office and Creative Ireland Carlow offering funding opportunities for creatives

Carlow County Council has announced details of a number of funding opportunities in 2025 for musicians, artists, creatives, community groups and gaeilegeoirs in Carlow through both Creative Ireland Carlow and Carlow Arts Office.

Speaking about the Open Calls, Arts Officer, Aileen Nolan said, “Carlow County Council are delighted to announce these three funding opportunities for 2025. We are particularly pleased to announce the new scheme for projects through the Irish language and look forward to receiving applications from people with all levels of gaeilge.”

Closing dates for the opportunities is 24th March 2025.

Rambling Houses historically were popular in communities across Ireland. They were a place where the locals would gather to be entertained, educated, and informed and included evenings filled with music, songs, dancing, stories, and side-splitting laughs! To this day, Rambling Houses celebrate and cherish the people of County Carlow through folklore and traditional art forms. Carlow Arts services, through Creative Ireland, strives to support creative initiatives that connect people, ideas, and communities. Carlow Arts Service through Creative Ireland Carlow now invite applications for innovative creative and cultural projects that (as per our strategy) 'Develop greater appreciation, awareness and support of County Carlow’s the promotion of the Irish Language.'Creative Ireland is an all-of-government initiative committed to harnessing the creative potential of communities, fostering collaboration and sparking new initiatives. Our work is designed to enable people to work together to transform their communities, lives and environments through creativity. Link HERE

 Carlow Live and Local is an initiative of Carlow County Council Arts Service and grew from the national Live and Local Performance Scheme that local authorities managed during the pandemic. 2025 sees the return of Carlow Live and Local and the return of the initiative being managed through the Carlow County Council Arts Service.  Carlow Live and Local since its inception has showcased Carlow Musicians and seen wonderful local raw talent flourish and nurtured with the voice of the community and local musicians at its core.
Carlow Live and Local will host a number of events throughout the year, providing performance opportunities across a number of genres for Carlow musicians. Link HERE
