RIP: Tributes paid to Carlow man who will be 'sadly missed' following his passing

Stephen Kavanagh - Newtown, Borris, Carlow / St. Mullins, Carlow - Thursday 24th April 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Stephen Kavanagh of Newtown, Borris, Carlow.

Stephen passed away in the loving care of his family and the staff of St. Luke's hospital, Kilkenny on Thursday the 24th of April.

Predeceased by his parents Alick and Maureen.

Much loved by his brother Michael and sisters Ellen and Mary, brother-in-law Syl, sister-in-law Sopanha, Mary's partner Peter, nieces and nephew, Emma, Peter, Eibhlin and Maeve, and their partners. He will be sadly missed by his relatives, neighbours and his many friends.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Deepest condolences to Michael, Ellen, Mary and all Stephen’s family and friends. He will be sadly missed by many. May his Gentle Soul Rest In Eternal Peace"

Another reads:

"To Mary, Ellen. Michael and the Kavanagh Family our deepest sympathy. Our prayers and thought's are with you at this sad time and may Stephan's gentle soul rest in peace."

Funeral Arrangements

Stephen will repose at his sister Ellen's home (Eircode R95E9T7) Newtown, from 2pm, concluding with prayers at 7pm on Sunday 27th. Removal at 10.30am on Monday 28th to arrive at St. Moling's Church, Glynn for 11am Requiem Mass, followed by burial in St. Mullins cemetery.

House private on Monday morning.
