RIP: Tributes paid following the passing of Carlow native who 'always had a smile'

Dermot O’Driscoll - Tullow Rd, Carlow - Wednesday 30th April 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of Dermot O’Driscoll of Tullow Rd,  Carlow and formerly of Carrick-on-Suir, Tipperary.

Dermot passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, on April 30th 2025, at his home

Beloved husband of Pat, much loved father of Brian, Niamh, Fiona and Emer and adored grandfather of Molly, Finn, Anna, Doug, Alex, Johnnie, Brian, Anna, Sarah, Ellie, Keelin and Charlie.

He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, son, daughters, grandchildren, sons-in-law Joe, Chris and Aidan, daughter-in-law Ellie, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Our deepest condolences to Pat and family. Dermot was a lovely kind gentleman. He always had a smile and would hum away while working on your teeth. He will be a huge loss to all his family. May Dermot rest in peace."

Another reads:

"Sincere sympathy to Pat, Brian, Niamh, Fiona, Emer and all of your extended families, at this very sad time for all of you, on the passing of your beloved husband and dad, Dermot. He was one of nature's gentlemen.
Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam dílis uasal."

Funeral Arrangements

Reposing at Carpenter Bros Funeral Home, Shamrock Sq (Eircode R93 C863) on Friday (May 2nd) from 5pm, concluding with Prayers at 7pm that evening. Removal on Saturday morning at 10.30am to the Church of the Holy Family, Askea to arrive for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by a private cremation.
