RIP: Tributes paid to 'kind and friendly' Carlow man following his passing

John Dowling - Linkardstown, Carlow - Friday 30th May 2025

Tributes have been paid following the passing of John Dowling of LinkardstownCarlow.

John passed away in the gentle and kind care of Hillview Nursing Home and Dr. Sinead Byrne on May 30th 2025.

Beloved husband of Tessa and dear father of Kevin, Laura, Aileen, Cathal and Niall. Sadly missed by his loving wife, sons, daughters, sisters Margery, Pam and Ronnie, sons-in-law Alan and Sal, his son’s partners Mel, Jess and Elisa, adored grandchildren Emily, Peter, Ruby, Federico, Luca and Seamus, brothers-in-law sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Predeceased by his brothers Brian, Maurice and Cormac.

Tributes have been paid in the condolences section of Rip.ie and read as follows: 

"Sincere sympathy to Tessa and family also John’s sisters and extended family & friends at this sad time. John was always a very kind & friendly gentleman. May he Rest in Peace"

Another reads:

"We were sorry to hear of John’s passing. Our condolences to Tessa and family at this sad time. We have fond memories of bumping into John with Tessa on holidays in the West some years ago."

Funeral Arrangements 

Reposing at his home (R93 V6Y6) on Sunday (June 1st) from 3pm to 7pm. Funeral Mass on Monday at 11am in St. Joseph’s Church, Tinryland, Carlow R93 TH22. Burial afterwards in the adjoining cemetery.
