Carlow has been ranked as the tenth most sustainable place to live in Ireland.
Research was carried out by Calor Gas, the factors that the ranked sustainability on include forest coverage, air quality, EV infrastructure, the number of A-rated homes, solar panel installations, and the number of high CO2 emitting vehicles per captia.
Each county was given a combined index score based on performance across all categories to determine an overall Sustainability Score out of 400.

Carlow ranks tenth with a Sustainability Score of 284.7, standing out for its high number of solar panel installations per capita (31.26) and air quality of just 15 which is excellent and poses little to no risk to health.
