Carlow woman raising funds for invaluable community first responders

A Carlow woman is raising funds for the invaluable work taken on by community first responders.

Karen Somers from Tullow intends to walk a 500m circuit track for a total of 12 hours to raise the much needed funds for equipment and resources.

Community first responders, a dedicated group of volunteers from the Tullow community, rely on donations and grants as they operate without any government funding.

The walk will take place on Saturday August 13 and you can donate to the GoFundMe page here.

The GoFundMe page reads,

"Hi, my name is Karen and on Sat 23rd August I will be walking a 500m circuit track for 12hrs from 5am-5pm for my local community first responders. This will be in conjunction with Grange Community Family Fun Day.

"Tullow Community First Responders are a dedicated group of volunteers who selflessly give their time and expertise to serve their community. On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, they provide a vital link between individuals in need and the ambulance service, ensuring timely and effective emergency care.
