The Boil Water Notice which impacted over 3,124 people in County Carlow this week has finally been lifted.
Uisce Éireann issued the notice on Monday, 11 August to customers on the Bagenalstown Public Water Supply as a precautionary measure to protect the health of those on the supply due to the presence of E. coli in a regulatory sample.
Areas impacted included Parc Muire, Bagenalstown Town Centre, Borris Road, Saint Bridgets Crescent, Father Cummins Park, Conway Park, The Long Range, Eastwood and surrounding areas.
Now, following consultation with the HSE, Uisce Éireann has confirmed that people in these areas can resume normal use of the water supply.

Commenting on the announcement, Uisce Éireann spokesperson Shane Alyward said: "Uisce Éireann regrets the inconvenience that the Boil Water Notice caused. In consultation with the HSE and following testing on the network, we are lifting the notice with immediate effect.
"The Boil Water Notice was put in place as a precautionary measure, as protecting public health is Uisce Éireann’s number one priority. We acknowledge the inconvenience caused to homes and businesses."
