No sign of 'back to school weather' in Carlow as heavy showers on the way

The first week of September has arrived, and unfortunately so has the rain.

In what has been a mixed and blustery weekend for those who survived Electric Picnic, people across Ireland have been holding their breath for the return of the "back to school weather" which usually sees the sun splitting the rocks, giving us the last few days of good weather before we all hunker down for the dark months ahead.

But alas it's not to be...at least not this week. Instead we can expect sunny spells and scattered showers which may turn heavy at times. Temperatures are expected to be in the teens throughout the days and will drop in the night.
