According to a new Daft.ie report, Carlow is the second cheapest county in Ireland for buying a new build four bedroom home.

The median price for a new build in Carlow is €330,000, which is significantly lower than the national average of €435,000, according to the new report.

The highest median price across the country is Dublin City Centre at a median price of €865,000 for a new build house.

The lowest across the country is in Longford with a median price of €123,000 for a new build.

List prices in Leinster (excluding Dublin) rose by an average of 7.2% in the year up to September 2025

The average price of a three-bed semi-detached property in Q3 in Leinster was €361,499.
Prices in the province are now 45% above their pre-covid levels and 8% below their Celtic Tiger peak.

Carlow, on average, had an average price of €184,000 for buying a two bedroom apartment.

This is an increase of 0.4% in the last year for Carlow.

There was a 5.3% jump for Carlow in the price of buying a three bedroom home in the last year, with an average price of €281,000..

This made Carlow the third cheapest in the country for buying a three bedroom home.

Carlow came in at the second cheapest county for buying a four bedroom home at an average price of €306,000.

The cheapest county was Longford at €234,000, and third was Offaly at €334,000.
